Warren County Fiscal Court approves purchase of State Street buildings

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Warren County Fiscal Court approved the purchase by the county of the buildings along State Street in downtown Bowling Green that burned in July.

It is currently unknown what if any development will take place on the lot, considering that the buildings were deemed unsafe and thus uninhabitable after the fire.

Judge executive Doug Gorman said that the historic nature of the buildings will be kept in mind during any kind of renovation work.

“We’re going to finish the demolition of those, clean that block up, but then we’ll take a bit of time doing some planning and seeing what the future is going to be. We’re in no rush to do anything. We do have we have no immediate plans on that property. It was more just to take care of that so we could start to think about what we could do in the future with them,” Gorman said.
