Warren County Fiscal Court approves first reading on bond issue for Med Center Health
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – In Warren County Fiscal Court Friday, magistrates voted to approve financial bonds for Med Center Health.
This proposed ordinance is still in the early stages, as magistrates heard the first reading. It will be voted on again at future meetings.
The exact amount is yet to be determined, but if approved it will not exceed $95 million and would be given in a series of bonds that would later be paid back to the county with interest directly from revenue from the hospital.
Representatives with Med Center Health participated in the Zoom meeting on Friday and thanked the county for their support during the ongoing pandemic.
“Thank you so much for your continued support of Med Center Health. We appreciate, very much, the involvement fiscal court has had for many, many years in helping us as a conduit for our bond issues,” Med Center Health Executive Vice President, Ron Sowell said. “More importantly this morning we want to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and concerns about our staff. Thank you for all your doing to support our team at the hospital and health care workers throughout our county, not just in our organization.”
This ordinance will be voted on again at the next fiscal court meeting on Dec. 18.
