Warren County Fire Department System rescues calf from sinkhole
WARREN COUNTY Ky- According to a post from the Warren County Fire Department System, units from Gott and Smiths Grove Fire Departments responded to an unusual rescue call Tuesday evening.
Instead of a human, units responded to rescue a calf that was trapped at the bottom of a sinkhole.
At the scene, authorities say they found the calf in distress about 20 to 30 foot down in the sinkhole and immediately began coordinating rescue efforts.
After about two hours of careful work crews, alongside Warren County Sheriff’s Office personnel and a local excavator, were able to rescue the calf without incident.
Authorities gave a special thanks to the excavator and the first responders for their “Utterly fantastic” work.
