Warren County family loses everything after lightning strikes home

A family has lost everything after their mobile home was struck by lightning and caught on fire in Warren County.

The fire broke out in the trailer around 7:30 a.m. Thursday at the Greenlawn Mobile Home Park.

The homeowner, Jessica Brady, was inside with her toddler when she says she saw the lightning and heard a huge boom of thunder. She told WNKY she immediately noticed smoke, grabbed her baby girl and rushed out of the house.

The Richardsville Fire Department responded to the home, which was engulfed when they arrived on scene.

Along with Brady, three other people live in the home, which is now a total loss.

"My baby lost everything, I lost everything, my fiance lost everything, and my two roommates lost everything. I wouldn’t wish this on nobody," said Brady.

The American Red Cross has been called in to assist.
