Warren County EMA urges storm preparedness
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – With severe weather on the radar, its crucial to be prepared no matter where you are.
Officials say to only travel if necessary and to keep flashlights and batteries in your car.
Having an emergency kit with snacks, water and first aid is recommended.
If you cannot get home in time before the storm or you are caught in it, experts say to pull over to the nearest community building, like a gas station, hotel or shelter.
Now, our area is no stranger to rainfall and flooding. Deputy director with Warren County Emergency Management, Charlie O’Neal, reveals that there were “15 water rescues” during the last weather incident.
He urges people to “turn around, don’t drown.” O’Neal adds to not underestimate the depth of standing water on roads.
