Warren County drug court receives certification for meeting national best practice standards

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Warren County’s drug court is now officially certified for meeting national best practice standards, a move leaders say strengthens recovery efforts in the community.

Warren County’s drug court is now certified for meeting national best practice standards, a designation leaders say strengthens how they help people battling addiction.

Unlike traditional court, drug court is a specialized program focused on treatment, accountability and recovery for people whose crimes are tied to substance use.

After a detailed review process, including on-site evaluations and case file checks, the program earned certification through all rise, formerly known as the National Association of Drug Court Professionals.

Hilary Eversoll, program project coordinator for Warren and Edmonson County Drug Court, says, “This is verification that the system that we use here is the best practice, we are providing the best services possible to give people the best chance to recover and be productive members of society in our community.”

Kimberly Geoghegan, Warren district judge for Division 1, says, “We are honored here in warren county to have received this state certification, which is a recognition of all the hard work by our staff and specialty courts here. So I want to thank Hilary Eversoll, Chas Taylor and all the members of the specialty court team for their hard work, including the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office and John Williams, Department of Public Advocacy and Sam Matthews and the county attorney’s office and LifeSkills. Without all of their collaboration, we wouldn’t have reached this milestone.”
