Warren County Conservation District gives out seeds to assist in pollination

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Without pollen the world goes hungry.

To help with the effort to keep plants pollinated, the Warren County Conservation District is giving out free pollinator habitat seeds.

Different mixes of seeds are available for butterflies, hummingbirds and honeybees. These seeds grow plants for our pollinating friends to continue doing what they do to help humans keep fresh fruit and vegetables on the table.

District technician Penny Warwick emphasizes how important pollen is to our community.

“People I guess are misled about pollinators, but they are very important to us. Our economy and everything would just collapse without pollinators. There wouldn’t be the produce and foods and flowers that we have today,” she said.
