Warren County buildings becoming more energy efficient

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-Warren County is making moves toward becoming more energy efficient. More than 40 county owned buildings are receiving or will receive energy efficiency upgrades.

Work has already started at the Warren County Courthouse and Warren County Regional Jail.

Some $5.7 million  is being spent on the upgrades, in return the county expects to save more than $6 million in usage and operating costs.

Magistrate Doug Gorman said the upgrades they’ve done so far have already started to reduce costs.

Work on the county buildings has been going on for about six months now and is expected to take 18 months to complete.
