Warren Central High School will receive a $14-million-dollar renovation

Warren Central High School is getting a $14-million-dollar renovation.

On Tuesday night at a board meeting, the renovation plans for Warren Central High School were approved.

The renovation will update the oldest part of the building, which is nearly 70-years-old.

“It’s just the age of the facility, the usability of those areas, it just needs some attention. It needs updating and renovating is the major reason, so we can provide the best opportunities for the kids.” says Chris McIntyre, Warren County Public School’s Chief Financial Officer.

The renovation will include the cafeteria, the kitchen, classrooms, band, and vocal areas.

This will have a positive impact on the band and vocal programs.

“They are going to get a brand-new wing back there where their area is. They will have the acoustical ceilings, the height of the ceilings that they should be by standards of today. So I think it will be able to add value to their programs and enlarge their programs.” adds McIntyre.

The cafeteria will also be used as an axillary gym, so that will allow multiple areas for student athletes to practice.

“Your student athletes will have multiple places. It will provide a place for archery, It will provide a place for cheerleading, basketball, volleyball, along with being to serve food during the school day”. adds McIntyre.

The project could begin as early as December 17th. McIntyre says these renovation plans have been in the works for many years now.

“This will put Warren Central in a great position going forward and up to speed with the rest of Warren County Schools.”

If the everything goes as expected it should be completed in roughly 15 months.
