Wanted Warren County woman arrested on meth trafficking charge

SITKA, Ky. – A Bowling Green woman is facing multiple charges, including drug trafficking, after authorities say they located her in Johnson County.

According to a uniform citation, on Aug. 26, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of KY 201 in Sitka located in Johnson County.

The Paintsville Herald reports Johnson County sheriff Scott Hazlette, two deputies and Kentucky State Police troopers were at the scene and had learned the subject was staying in a residence in Keaton.

They also reported five warrants were out from Warren County for the female subject’s arrest.

Deputies say while serving several warrants on Cynthia Brown, 39, of Bowling Green, a K-9 gave a positive alert on Brown’s vehicle.

The sheriff’s office says during a search inside of the vehicle, they located over 2 ounces of methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, scales, clear smoking pipes and bags for packaging.

Brown stated all of the above belonged to her and not a male that was with her in the vehicle, the citation states.

The Paintsville Herald reports the male subject, identified as Christopher Davis, 33, of Keaton, took the key into the bathroom of a business and broke it, causing authorities to need another way to enter the vehicle.

A separate uniform citation stated Hazlette had to have a key made at a dealership in order to search the vehicle.

Brown was arrested and charged with failure to appear, first-degree bail jumping, persistent felony offender I, trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance, third degree (drug unspecified), possession marijuana and drug paraphernalia – buy/possess.

Davis was arrested and charged with obstructing governmental operations.

Brown remains at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond.
