Wanted Tennessee man arrested on DUI charges in Hart County

BONNIEVILLE, Ky. – A wanted Tennessee man is behind bars on charges related to driving under the influence in Hart County.
According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police Post 3 dispatch received a 911 call reporting a reckless driver on Interstate 65 northbound early Sunday morning.
Troopers say the caller stated a black pickup truck almost struck her and other vehicles while being unable to maintain its lane.
Authorities say they located the truck traveling in the right emergency lane.
Troopers conducted a traffic stop at the 69-mile marker, where they say they removed the driver, identified as 40-year-old Federico Gonzalez Gil of Nashville, Tennessee, from the vehicle.
According to the citation, Gonzalez Gil smelled of alcoholic beverages. Authorities say a small child was being held in the back seat by another individual and was not in a car seat.
A preliminary breath test measured at .100, according to the citation. Following Standard Field Sobriety Testing, authorities say Gonzalez Gil attempted to run.
Troopers say they took Gonzales Gil to the ground, where he resisted arrest. Authorities say a taser was deployed, and Gonzalez Gil continued to resist, leading troopers to deliver “knee strikes and closed fist strikes.”
Gonzalez Gil was then placed into custody.
Two troopers reportedly sustained minor injuries during this time, the citation states.
Officials say they additionally located an empty bottle of beer in the vehicle.
Gonzalez Gil was transported to The Medical Center at Caverna for medical clearance. He was later transported to the Hart County Jail.
Gonzalez Gil faces multiple charges, including reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, third offense, endangering the welfare of a minor, first-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot), first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, resisting arrest, second-degree criminal mischief, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, first offense, and driving on a DUI suspended license, first offense.
He is additionally arrested on a warrant out of Robertson, Tennessee.
