Wanted Scottsville man arrested after allegedly firing a gun multiple times

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A wanted Scottsville man is charged after allegedly firing a gun while law enforcement attempted to serve him an active warrant.

According to a uniform citation, the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force responded to 4498 Walnut Creek Road to locate 37-year-old Dustin Birge, of Scottsville, who had an active arrest warrant to investigate a boat and fisher finder on the property.

Officers say they attempted to contact Birge by knocking on the doors of the home and received no response.

Through continued investigation, law enforcement made contact with individuals who could help locate Birge.

After multiple attempts to locate, Birge exited the home, according to the citation.

Officers say they did not know where Birge was on the property, and then heard suspected gunshots.

Birge was located on the property, and officers attempted to place him into custody. Officers say Birge would not comply and resisted arrest.

Officers arrested Birge, who was transported to the Allen County Jail.

Birge is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment (police officer), first-degree wanton endangerment and resisting arrest.
