BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A wanted man who escaped custody in Seattle is now back behind bars in Warren County.

Early Thursday morning, Warren County sheriff Brett Hightower says 29-year-old Sedric Stevenson of Antioch, Tennessee was transported by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office to Warren County.

He now remains at the Warren County Regional Jail as of 2:23 a.m. Thursday.

Hightower says the U.S. Marshal Service and Seattle police apprehended Sedric Stevenson on June 18. This follows Stevenson’s escape from a contracted agent at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in early May.

Officials with the airport state Stevenson and agents were in the middle of the check-in process at the airport when Stevenson fled the ticket counter and boarded a northbound light rail train.

According to authorities, Stevenson was wanted on two active warrants.

Police say on the first warrant, Stevenson was wanted for failure to appear for a jury trial on charges of first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, third-degree assault on a police officer or probation officer, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), trafficking in marijuana – less than 8 ounces, first offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, resisting arrest, third-degree criminal mischief and possession of an open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle.

On the second warrant, police say Stevenson was wanted for failure to appear for a jury trial on charges of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
