Wanted man leads Cave City police on vehicle, foot pursuit

CAVE CITY, Ky. – A wanted man led Cave City police on a chase on Friday.

The Cave City Police Department says it conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Joseph Ridlehoover, 38. Ridlehoover had a warrant with extradition in another state.

Officers say they asked Ridlehoover to exit the vehicle. Ridlehoover then drove away from the traffic stop and almost struck both officers.

Officers pursued Ridlehoover into Hart County for several miles. Ridlehoover exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The officers apprehended Ridlehoover after a short pursuit.

Ridlehoover is lodged at the Barren County Detention Center. He is facing several charges including wanton endangerment-1st degree-police officer and fleeing or evading police, 1st degree (motor vehicle).

The Cave City Police Department was assisted by the Kentucky State Police, Hart County Sheriff’s Office, Horse Cave Police Department, and Munfordville Police Department.
