Wanted man escapes DUI arrest on foot in handcuffs in Adairville, captured in Russellville

ADAIRVILLE, Ky. – A wanted man escaped a suspected DUI arrest after being handcuffed on Friday evening.
According to a release, Adairville Police Chief Aaron Ashby observed a vehicle traveling southbound on 431 S driving recklessly in and out of the northbound lane.
Ashby says he initiated a traffic stop in the 3000 block of 431 S. The vehicle stopped and Ashby made contact with Dary Wirner Miranda-Gabriel.
Ashby says Miranda-Gabriel and four male passengers appeared to be intoxicated.
Miranda-Gabriel was placed under arrest.
Ashby says one of the passengers attempted to flee the scene on foot, but was eventually caught.
Miranda-Gabriel allegedly escaped the scene on foot while Ashby was pursuing the other suspect. He was in handcuffs.
According to the release, Miranda-Gabriel was located by the Russellville Police Department at 3:22 am walking on the Russellville Bypass.
Miranda-Garbiel was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Russellville City Police Department and Lewisburg City Police Department assisted the investigation.
Miranda-Gabriel is charged with the following:
- Failure to wear seat belts
- Failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance/sec, 1st offense
- Operating on sus or revoked operator’s license
- Failure to or improper signal
- Reckless driving
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol (189a.010(1b) – 1st (agg cir)
- Theft by unlawful taking or displacing all others
- Criminal mischief 2nd degree
- Fleeing or evading police, 2nd degree (on foot)
- Escape 3rd degree
- Obstructions/interference with an officer
- Wanton endangerment-1st degree
- Wanton endangerment-1st degree-police officer
- Fugitive from another state – warrant required
