Wanted Edmonton man apprehended on multiple charges

EDMONTON, Ky. – An Edmonton man is facing several charges related to an incident that occurred Friday.
According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police was assisting the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office to serve a warrant at a residence on Dry Fork Road in Edmonton.
Authorities say 33-year-old Lonnie Thompson of Edmonton was wanted for multiple arrest warrants and bench warrants.
Upon arrival, troopers say contact was made with a female subject that confirmed Thompson was at the residence despite having an outstanding emergency order of protection against him.
Authorities say Thompson was irate and not complying with verbal commands.
Troopers say they eventually made entry into the bedroom, and Thompson began to run from them. Authorities say a taser was deployed, and Thompson still refused verbal commands.
While Thompson continued to resist arrest, troopers say he was brought into custody.
Thompson was transported to the Edmonton Police Department before being taken to the Barren County Detention Center.
He is charged with violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO, resisting arrest, menacing and second-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot).
