Wanted Bowling Green man arrested in connection with robbery investigation

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A wanted Bowling Green man is behind bars following an alleged robbery last week.
According to a uniform citation, 27-year-old Nawatha Murrell of Bowling Green was arrested Sunday and charged with third-degree fleeing or evading police.
Officers say they saw Murrell Sunday evening while trying to serve a warrant on him off of Vine Street.
Police say Murrell fled and disobeyed commands to stop running.
Murrell was apprehended in a field and taken into custody.
Murrell was previously identified as a suspect in a robbery investigation involving an assault on Jan. 7, according to police.
Polices say they had attempted a traffic stop on Murrell last week, however, he failed to stop.
Authorities say they terminated the pursuit after determining the situation was dangerous to other drivers.
Murrell was wanted on multiple active warrants, according to police.
The charges under those warrants include first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, parole violation, multiple counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, first-degree fleeing or evading police and additional offenses.
Murrell remains at the Warren County Regional Jail on a $13,525 cash bond.
