Walmart Supercenter in Bowling Green unveils upgrades
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- If you’ve recently walked into the Walmart on Morgantown Road in Bowling Green, you may have noticed a few changes. The store has been completely upgraded to an innovative shopping experience.
Walmart is donating $56 million to its Kentucky stores.
One of those stores is the Walmart Supercenter in Bowling Green where those renovations were unveiled on Friday.
Upgrades include added self-checkout registers, LED lighting, new shelving and signage and an overall modernized grocery layout.
The store manager says the upgrade helps the store compete as more brick and mortar stores are being forced to shut down.
During the grand re-opening celebration, the store donated a total of $11,000 to local non-profits in the bowling green community, including: Stuff the Bus, Toys for Tots and Special Olympics.
