Virtual job fair aims to connect veterans with careers

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Finding a job can be challenging, but one group is working to make it easier—especially for veterans.

The Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs is hosting a virtual job fair to create new opportunities for those who served.

This online event is just one of many resources designed to help veterans succeed in a supportive environment.

Commissioner Whitney Allen says the goal is not only to offer one-on-one assistance but to build a network between employers and job seekers.

“It’s about connecting veterans to the careers they deserve,” Allen said.

The job fair’s first hour is exclusively reserved for veterans to ensure they get priority access. After that, the event opens up to all job seekers until 1 p.m. Organizers hope this unique approach will lead to more meaningful employment for those who’ve served.
