Victory Hill Dream Center warming shelter open; in need of volunteers

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – The Victory Hill Dream Center’s warming shelter opened early this week as temperatures dropped, but they say they need a few things before the cold returns.

The biggest need right now is volunteers. Without them, the shelter can’t stay open.

Volunteers help cover those overnight shifts, since the shelter runs 24/7 when temperatures get dangerously low, and they also help serve warm meals to anyone seeking a safe place to stay.

“If they would like to volunteer to make a meal or drop off a meal, warm blankets are always a good thing, warm clothes, hand warmers, hats, things like that. Those are the biggest necessities throughout the winter months,” Cara Ellinger, the shelter coordinator for the VH Dream Center says.

If you’d like to volunteer, you can reach out to either Victory Hill Church or the VH Dream Center.
