Victory Hill Dream Center to create overdose kits to help those fighting addictions
ALLEN COUNTY, Ky. – August is Overdose Awareness Month, and one local organization is taking the time to make sure the community knows they have someone there for them.
Victory Hill Dream Center is going to be making some kits that will be given to law enforcement and EMS in Allen County and the surrounding communities.
Staff at the Dream Center say support is one of the number one things that can help someone who is suffering from an addiction… and they hope these kits will help make sure they are not only safe, but they have a new group that can help them in their fight.
“They have Narcan in it. They have drug deactivators that you can deactivate any kind of drug with… and then they have pamphlets and information in it to help anyone who’s went through withdrawal or a family member dealing with somebody that has been through withdrawal to help them find the proper help that they need,” Dream Center coordinator Darren Blankenship says.
He also says as a person of recovery himself, he’s relieved to have found help and hopes these kits can help the surrounding communities do the same.
