Victory Hill Dream Center set to expand services to Monday through Friday
SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – On the corner of South Court and West Maple just off the downtown Scottsville square, some big changes are coming to the Victory Hill Dream Center as they are set to expand their services to Monday through Friday weekly.
“We will be doing the same stuff really that we were doing before. It’s just now, it gives us a much better opportunity to help people with home insecurities, food insecurities. We will be able to pick up more meetings and recovery meetings for people, and a lot more opportunities to give people peer support,” Darren Blankenship, the new full-time lead pastor at the Dream Center, says.
The team at the Dream Center made the decision because of one thing they saw in their community: the need.
“Right now, we’re having to do this by appointment a lot of times, or I’m here two days a week all day, and then those two days it is nonstop coming through the door… and a lot of those people still miss us because they can always get here when we’re here. So we just realized that the need is, it’s so much greater than we realized when we began this. Now, I think we can really start to meet the needs that we see in our community,” Blankenship says.
As the lead pastor, he believes it’s his calling to help his community.
“If you live in this community, you see what’s going on. We have to step up our game, because people are struggling, and I just want to do everything I can to help them. Dream Center wants to do everything they can to help, Victory Hill, our community wants to do everything to help them that we possibly can,” Blankenship says.
If you or someone you know is looking for help, you can reach out to the Victory Hill Dream Center. The new hours starting Jan. 1 will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
