Victory Hill Church preparing for Project Prom initiative
ALLEN COUNTY, Ky. – Victory Hill Church is holding its fourth annual Project Prom, which provides free prom dresses, shoes and accessories to local high school students in the area.
Outreach team member Megan Simmons says this is a perfect way for any girl in Warren and Allen Counties to take part in a huge milestone event without having to worry about spending a lot of money.
“We just don’t ever want finances to be a reason that girls don’t feel celebrated. So we offer these dresses for them free of charge. They can come and shop and not only get dresses, but they can get shoes and jewelry and just feel celebrated and get to enjoy prom and make that a milestone memory,” she says.
Simmons adds providing this has been a great opportunity for her to see these kids be able to take part in prom, and she hopes it’s just as great an opportunity for the students as well.
“We just want these girls, like I said, to feel celebrated and to just be able to shop for a dress with dignity, and they can come and they can make an appointment so they can have a private appointment where they come and shop by themselves, and just truly feel celebrated,” she says.
Appointments can be made for March 7, 14 and 21 between 10 a.m. and noon at the church’s Student Building (Building D).
They will also offer limited hair and makeup appointments on a first come, first served basis.
