Verizon closes on Bluegrass Cellular deal

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Verizon has announced that it has officially closed the deal to acquire Bluegrass Cellular.

Verizon will now provide wireless service to 210,000 customers that were previously served by Bluegrass Cellular in 34 Kentucky counties. Bluegrass’ sales and operations, as well as most of their customers are expected to be fully integrated into Verizon by the end of 2021.

Verizon provided a statement saying what this means for Bluegrass customers.

We will bring the culture of innovation and our customer-first service mindset that has made Verizon the nation’s largest wireless provider to these customers, providing them with more choices, great services and new features thanks to Verizon’s investments – but with the same flexibility and control they value in Bluegrass Cellular’s plans.”

Customers of Bluegrass Cellular in South Central Kentucky do not need to take any action right now. They will receive information about the transition next month.
