Vehicle crashes into river during pursuit in Ohio County
OHIO COUNTY, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is among those taken into custody following a vehicle pursuit in Ohio County early Tuesday.
The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office says it was contacted around 12:42 a.m. by the Kentucky State Police Post 3 about a pursuit that would enter the county.
Deputies say they prepared to deploy spike strips when the vehicle turned down a road in Cromwell before crashing into the river.
According to deputies, three occupants were apprehended while the male driver ran from the scene.
After using a drone and K-9 unit, authorities say that subject was located within 30 minutes.
Braxton Broyles, 18, of Bowling Green was lodged in the Warren County Jail.
Devion Cox, 18, was taken into custody, along with two female juveniles.
Broyles is charged with receiving stolen property $10,000 or more, first-degree wanton endangerment, no operators moped license and additionally had a warrant served.
The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Hartford Police Department, Beaver Dam Police Department and Ohio County EMA.
