Vacation Bible School returns after pandemic

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Churches are finally back to celebrating Vacation Bible School with kids in the summertime. Many churches like Southside Baptist Church in Bowling Green missed having children there last year due to COVID 19.

Southside celebrated its last night of its week-long VBS with pizza night for the kids along with singing, dancings and games.

They had classes ranging from preschool to adult, and about 40 kids spent the week making friends and learning about Jesus.

John Lowe has been pastor of Southside for seven years, and he says virtual VBS last year paled in comparison to the real deal.

“Virtual VBS is not the same as in-person, and we were blessed to have in-person Vacation Bible School this year. The kids just love it to be able to get out and participate,” said Lowe.

Pastor Lowe said he encourages any parents and grandparents to bring their kids to VBS. People contact local churches to see when VBS programs are available.
