USDA to invest $4.3 million in Logan County water infrastructure project

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky.- The U.S. Department of Agriculture is spending big bucks to improve water infrastructure in Logan County.

The $4.3 million investment will allow the Logan-Todd Regional Water Commission to upgrade and replace about two miles of waterline. By doing that, the investment will increase capacity at the water treatment plant to meet the expected increased demand from the Novelis manufacturing facility in Springfield, Tennessee.

During fiscal year 2019, the USDA has invested $616 million in rural Kentucky with over $53 million being used on water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
