UPS delivers $10,000 worth of books to Glasgow library

GLASGOW Ky.- To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Toys for Tots literacy program, Mary Wood Weldon Library was selected as one of 10 national recipients of the UPS store $100,000 book giveaway.

Mary Wood Weldon was selected out of 1,000 nominations thanks to their mission to help with child literacy.

UPS franchisee Melva Moore said she’s happy to help in the realm of child literacy, especially for those who don’t have easy access to books.

“When you are able to help, especially disadvantaged children, that just gives them a whole new future when they have a book in their hand. They realize that there are other things out there,” said Moore.
