Updated list of burn bans lifted

Burn Ban

BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – A burn ban has been lifted in Barren and Edmonson counties.

According to county officials, the ban was lifted as of 5 p.m. on Tuesday for Barren County, while Edmonson County’s was lifted as of Wednesday.

However, burn bans still remain for the following local counties, according to the Team Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet:

  • Hart
  • Logan
  • Metcalfe
  • Todd
  • Warren

Officials say burn bans normally prohibit the following:

  • Burning of forest, grass, crops, woodlands, marshes or other similar areas.
  • Burning leaves or debris.
  • Campfires, bonfires and warming fires.
  • Open pit cooking and charcoal grilling.
  • Use of fireworks and welding may also be prohibited or regulated.

In counties with lifted bans, citizens are still asked to remain cautious with outdoor burns.
