UPDATE: KSP releases details of fatal church shooting investigation

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky State Police is investigating multiple shooting incidents in Fayette County.
KSP says its Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) was requested by KSP Post 12 and the Lexington Police Department to investigate multiple shootings on Sunday, July 13.
KSP says the first shooting incident occurred at 10:30 am (CDT) on Terminal Drive near the Bluegrass Airport. The incident involves a KSP trooper.
The second shooting incident occurred at around 11:30 am (CDT) at Richmond Road Baptist Church located on Old Richmond Road. This incident involved LPD officers.
KSP CIRT launched an investigation at each shooting site.
KSP’s initial investigation shows that a KSP trooper conducted a traffic stop on Terminal Drive.
After making contact with the occupants, one of the individuals shot the trooper. The trooper sustained serious injuries.
The suspect was later identified as Guy House, 47, of Lexington. House had active arrest warrants.
KSP says the other occupants of the vehicle were not involved in the assault. They did not leave the scene.
The investigation shows House fled the scene and later stole a vehicle from an individual.
LPD received information on the whereabouts of the vehicle stolen by House. The vehicle was located near Old Richmond Road in Fayette County.
KSP says LPD officers located the stolen vehicle around 11:30 am (CDT) at Richmond Road Baptist Church.
Officers approached the church and located House near the parking lot area of the church, along with multiple gunshot victims.
KSP says House shot four victims before law enforcement arrived.
KSP says three LPD officers fired their weapons at House, resulting in fatal injuries.
LPD officers attempted life-saving measures on the victims and House.
Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene by the Fayette County Coroner.
The victims are Christina Combs, 34, of Lexington, and Beverly Gumm, 72, of Lexington.
Two other victims received life-threatening injuries and are receiving treatment at a local hospital.
The Fayette County Coroner pronounced House dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
