BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – New details have been released in a Warren County murder investigation.

On Jan. 19, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle fire in the 3300 block of Threlkel Ferry Road.

During the investigation, the WCSO says it located human remains inside of the vehicle.

According to a uniform citation, WSCO detectives determined the dead victim had been murdered.

Detectives say that 31-year-old Salko Husejnovic of Bowling Green attacked his wife, Jasmina Aljic, at a home on Fortuna Avenue.

The uniform citation states that Aljic died as a result of the attack.

Detectives say Husejnovic placed Aljic’s body on the floor of their home for three days. Husejnovic allegedly told his children that their “mommy was sleeping.”

Forty-four-year-old Shelly Boyd of Bowling Green confessed to being present at the home during the murder of Aljic, according to a uniform citation.

Detectives say Husejnovic asked Boyd to purchase items for the home and a can of gasoline.

Husejnovic and Boyd allegedly transported Aljic’s body inside the victim’s vehicle to the 3300 block of Threlkel Ferry Road.

Husejnovic allegedly poured gasoline on the vehicle and then set it on fire while Boyd stood nearby, according to the uniform citation.

Husejnovic and Boyd allegedly left the scene, returned to the home and attempted to conceal their clothing.

Detectives say Husejnovic blamed Boyd for not contacting law enforcement and burning Aljic’s body in the vehicle, however, he confessed to the murder.

The citation further states Boyd confessed she was “present for and witnessed the murder” of Aljic. Authoirites say Boyd drove the victim’s vehicle to the area where the remains were located.

Husejnovic is charged with murder-domestic violence, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of corpse.
