OHIO COUNTY, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police says it has located an infant’s body consistent with 8-month-old Miya Rudd.

Troopers say they located the decomposed body concealed within a residence around 1:15 p.m. Friday, June 14.

After investigators process the scene, the baby will be taken by the Ohio County Coroner’s Office and transported to the Kentucky Medical Examiners Office in Louisville, authorities say.

In a uniform citation, troopers stated Miya Rudd has not been seen since the end of April. Miya Rudd has been at the center of a missing child investigation by the Kentucky State Police after they responded for a welfare check and search warrant on June 6.

Multiple arrests have followed the investigation, including the child’s grandparents, 49-year-old Billie Smith, 56-year-old Ricky Smith, 53-year-old David Tucker and 50-year-old Taletha Tucker.

In addition, the child’s parents, Cage Rudd and Tesla Tucker, were arrested, along with two other people on drug charges in separate incidents.

Timothy Roach, 37, was arrested while troopers conducted a search warrant at the home of the infant’s grandparents. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Brodie Payne, 28, of Reynolds Station, Kentucky has also been charged in relation to an alleged illegal drug operation in the Rudd residence. He was arrested in May.

The investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police, Ohio County Coroner’s Officer and Kentucky Medical Examiners Office.
