PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. – The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office says a Kentucky man who escaped while awaiting trial for murder has been arrested.

The sheriff’s office says law enforcement arrested 24-year-old Samuel Baker, along with Adriana Brown, in El Dorado, Kansas.

Both face local charges based out of El Dorado, according to authorities.

Authorities say Baker is a suspect in the 2021 shooting death of Robert Claunch in Faubush, Kentucky. Baker escaped Wednesday morning after removing his ankle monitor.

On Thursday, Nov. 23 at about 5:30 a.m., the Mascoutah Police Department received information about a 2018 Dodge Charger that had been found with two unknown persons in it at El Dorado, authorities say. By that evening, authorities say Mascoutah officers learned Baker and Brown were the suspects in possession of the vehicle.

The sheriff’s office says authorities learned through the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Facebook that Baker and Brown could be driving a black Dodge Caravan. Authorities say they found Brown’s Dodge Caravan parked next to where the stolen Dodge Charger had been parked before it was stolen.

Deputies say they believe Brown assisted Baker with the intent to “hinder Baker’s apprehension, prosecution, and conviction or punishment.”

Brown is charged with the offense of first-degree hindering, prosecution or apprehension. Further charges for both relating to their apprehension in El Dorado have not been released at this time.

Baker faces first-degree murder, first-degree burglary, convicted felon in possession of a handgun and persistent felony offender in connection with the death of Claunch.

Information regarding extradition is pending at this time.
