UPDATE: Fire at Bowling Green building caused by discarded smoking materials

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Less than 24 hours after a fire damaged an office building in Bowling Green, fire officials have determined a cause.

According to the Bowling Green Fire Department, improperly discarded smoking materials caused the Monday blaze at Chestnut Center.

The building, located in the 700 block of Chestnut St., went up in flames shortly before 12 p.m.

No one was injured.

Foul play is not suspected.
