UPDATE: BGPD arrests 1 in connection with University Boulevard shooting

UPDATE (2.16.26 | 1:30 pm):

The Bowling Green Police Department announced the arrest of  20-year-old Christopher Meza Ramirez, of Bowling Green, in connection with a shooting on University Boulevard early Sunday morning.

Meza Ramirez is charged with first-degree assault and was lodged at the Warren County Regional Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.

BGPD says it is investigating additional suspects.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Police Department is investigating a Sunday morning Shooting.

Public Information Officer Ronnie Ward says officers responded to an assault and a shooting on University Boulevard near Old Morgantown Road.

Ward says one person was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The roadway between Morgantown Road and Russellville Road was closed at around 4:37 am, according to a BGPD message.

The investigation is ongoing.
