UPDATE: 1 dead following crash off of Woodburn Allen Springs Road

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Authorities say one person is dead following a collision at the intersection of Woodburn Allen Springs Road and Nashville Road Thursday.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office says the fatal collision involved a dump truck and passenger vehicle.

Deputies say the passenger vehicle was attempting to cross the northbound lane of Nashville Road when it pulled into the dump truck’s path of travel.

The truck was unable to stop, striking the driver side of the car, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies say upon arriving, the operator of the passenger vehicle, Samantha Perkins, 30, of Franklin, Kentucky was extracted from the vehicle. Perkins was transported to the Medical Center at Bowling Green, where she was pronounced dead, according to officials.

The operator of the dump truck had no reported injuries, according to authorities.
