Units respond to brush fire in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, Ky. – Multiple units responded for a reported brush fire Friday in Morgantown.

According to Morgantown police chief Giles Taylor, a total of six acres burned off of Smiths Hill Drive, however, the fire is now under control.

The Fourth District Fire Department says it responded to assist Morgantown Fire Department with the fire, which reached the woods and was at risk of reaching some structures at the time.

Units brought the fire under control and cleared the area.

Additional assistance on scene included Second District Fire Department, Rochester Fire Department, Fifth District Fire Department, Butler County EMS and Morgantown police.

Fourth District officials say this was the 10th brush fire they responded to this month.
