United Way’s 14th annual kickoff of Feed the Need food drive is going on until April 22nd
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Feed the Need hosted by United Way kicked off it’s 14th annual food drive this past Friday.
United Way runs “Feed the Need” in multiple counties of southern Kentucky and services ten counties.
The most needed items are usually non-perishable canned protein items such as: tuna; canned chicken; beef; and boxed meals like: hamburger helper; rice-a-roni; Mac & Cheese.
Elizabeth Newbould, Marketing Specialist for United Way of Southern Kentucky says, “[w]e know that the impact is huge and this year it’s more important than ever because of the tornadoes. A lot of families will be moving back into long term housing after being in temporary housing and they’re gonna go back home with empty shelves. We’re hoping Feed the Need will help fill those shelves.”
To donate in Warren county, take the items to Salvation Army.
