Undercover detectives nab Logan County fugitive

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky.- Undercover detectives with the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force arrested a fugitive from Logan County on Wednesday.

According to a news release from the agency, Steven Ballard, 27, asked an undercover agent for a ride and offered methamphetamine as payment.

Authorities said Ballard fled on foot when agents arrived at his home in the 100 block of Montgomery Road. Agents were forced to use a taser in order to subdue Ballard, according to the news release.

Investigators said Ballard had approximately 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine on him when he was arrested, along with numerous bags and a digital scale.

Ballard is lodged in the Logan County Detention Center and charged with numerous drug related offenses.
