U.S. Navy shares photo of Bowling Green sailor serving in Gulf of Oman

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The U.S. Navy’s Office of Community Outreach has shared a photo with WNKY of a sailor from Bowling Green serving our country in the Gulf of Oman.

According to a news release, the photo of Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Nathanial Smith, was taken June 20. Smith is currently aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Bainbridge (DDG 96). Bainbridge is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operation in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
