U.S. Department of Commerce awards grant to upgrade Cave City water treatment plant

CAVE CITY, Ky.- The U.S. Department of Commerce is providing upgrades to a wastewater treatment facility in Cave City.

The Commerce Department’s Economic Development Administration is awarding a $1.4 million grant to the Caveland Environmental Authority, to upgrade and increase the capacity at an existing wastewater treatment plant that serves Hart County Industrial Park and supports manufacturing companies in the area.

According to a news release from the Commerce Department, the grant will be matched with $1.4 million in local investment and is expected to help create more than 70 jobs and generate $50 million in private investment.
