Tyson Foods giving away 40,000 pounds of chicken
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – At the WKU Innovation Campus on Nashville Road, Tyson Foods will be showing the community they care.
In an interview with News 40, Bowling Green’s plant manager Brian Wikel told us that one of Tyson’s five Cs is “care”, and they do that through events such as food donations. Wikel said Tyson is big on community and always wants to be a positive force in whatever area they reside in and ahead of their opening in October, this is the second food giveaway they’ve done so far.
The manager informed News 40 that this time around, the protein in question would be cut chicken. People that come through the line Saturday morning will receive a 40-pound box of assorted pieces; including things like thighs, wings and drums. Wikel said it will be first come first serve yet again starting at 8 a.m. and that they will only issue one box to one carload.
Tyson will be out alongside volunteers and police directing traffic flow at the campus to get approximately 1,00 cars served. The event kicks off at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 20th.
