Two Whitley Co. women indicted on murder charges after death of 1-year-old

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Two Whitley County women are facing murder and drug-related charges.

The Kentucky State Police states on Tuesday, 57-year-old Robin Siler and 22-year-old Jasmine Siler, both of Williamsburg, were indicted on charges of murder and other offenses connected to the death of a 1-year-old.

Troopers say the young child died in July.

Both individuals are charged with murder, first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia..

Troopers say on July 4, they were notified by Whitley County 911 about a 1-year-old drowning victim in Corbin.

During preliminary investigation, authorities say they learned the juvenile was found in a swimming pool at the child’s residence. The child was transported by Whitley County EMS to Baptist Health in Corbin, where he was later pronounced dead by the Whitley County Coroner’s Office.

The investigation ins ongoing.
