Two National Guard members shot in Washington, D.C., NBC News reports

WASHINGTON (WRC/NBC NEWS) — Two National Guardsmen have been shot in downtown Washington, D.C.

Details are limited at this time, but this occurred several blocks from the White House.

At least one person was taken to a hospital via Med-Evac helicopter.

D.C. police say the scene is secure, and at least one suspect has been taken into custody.

The White House says it is aware and actively monitoring the situation.
