Two men each sentenced to 20 years in death of Bowling Green woman
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Two people have been sentenced in relation to the death of a Bowling Green woman that occurred last year.
According to Warren County circuit court clerk Brandi Duvall, Alexander Leonard, 51, and Lonnie Leonard, 57, both of Bowling Green, were each sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Both individuals were sentenced Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Warren Circuit Court, court records say.
The charges stem from the death of Jazzmyne Rose Fikes, 44, who police say was in cardiac arrest and was unable to be revived when they responded to Gary Avenue on May 14, 2023.
Her caretakers said Fikes was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and was bedridden.
The Bowling Green Police Department says it discovered Fikes was malnourished and severely underweight with severe bed sores located on her back.
According to police, the conditions Fikes lived in were also highly unsanitary.
Previously, Alexander Leonard and Lonnie Leonard, along with Tiffany McCoy, 39, were indicted for offenses of first-degree manslaughter and knowingly abuse or neglect of adult by person.
McCoy is scheduled for a pretrial conference on Nov. 12 at 9 a.m.
Both Alexander Leonard and Lonnie Leonard remain at the Warren County Detention Center.
