Two men charged with manslaughter in Franklin overdose death

FRANKLIN, Ky. – Two men are charged with manslaughter after an individual suffered a fentanyl overdose.

The South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force says the Franklin Police Department responded to a call to 512 North High Street for a reported death on August 4, 2024.

A preliminary investigation shows the death is a result of fentanyl use.

The task force says it was contacted and began a two-month investigation into the cause of death.

According to the investigation, Jason Bryan, of Portland, TN, sold fentanyl to Stephen Chiarchiaro. Chiarchiaro allegedly supplied the fentanyl to the victim.

Bryan and Chiarchiaro were indicted by a grand jury on November 13, 2024.

Bryan is charged with first-degree TICS Carfentanil or fentanyl derivatives result in death, first-degree manslaughter and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Chiarchiaro is charged with first-degree TICS Carfentanil or fentanyl derivatives result in death, second-degree manslaughter 2nd and possession of drug paraphernalia.
