Two men arrested in Pike County murder investigation

STEELE, Ky. – Kentucky State Police is investigating a shooting death in Pike County.

KSP Post 9 says a call regarding a shooting in Steele was received on Saturday.

Troopers and investigators located a deceased man at a residence on Laurel Fork at the scene.

KSP says Christopher Lester, 42 of Steele, suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Lester was pronounced deceased at the residence by the Pike County Coroner’s Office.

The investigation led to the arrest of two men on murder charges.

Michael Brown and Anthony Browning were arrested on charges of murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Brown was lodged in the South West Virginia Regional Jail in Abingdon, Virginia.

Browning was lodged at the Southwestern Regional Jail in Holden, West Virginia

The investigation is ongoing.
