BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Two men are facing charges after an alleged weekend robbery in Bowling Green.

According to an arrest report, the Bowling Green Police Department responded Sunday to the 300 block of Hillview Mills Boulevard regarding a report of suspicious individuals.

The report states dispatch said “several subjects wearing masks and armed with firearms” were trying to enter an apartment.

Police say upon arrival, the subjects were no longeron scene, however, they heard four or five shots from east of their location.

This led law enforcement to respond to the 500 block of Moss Creek Avenue, according to the report.

Authorities say a victim stated at least four male subjects entered a home through a back door window.

According to police, the victim further stated the subjects entered her room and ordered her to show them where the room of a male resident was located.

Police say the male resident stated he got home and retrieved a handgun, firing multiple rounds at the subjects that had entered the home.

Authorities say the subjects fired back before fleeing the scene on foot.

Police say an officer saw several subjects running across Creekwood Avenue and pursued them, however, they lost sight of them. Officers with BGPD, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and Western Kentucky University Police Department searched the area.

The report states 21-year-old Jaivion Harris was located at a FiveStar off of Veterans Memorial Lane, while 19-year-old Brian Williams Jr. was located off of Stonebridge Lane and Creekwood Avenue with an apparent gunshot wound.

Police say they located shell casings at the scene.

Authorities say a resident of a home on Moss Creek Avenue stated he had heard gunshots and had seen the subjects running near his house. According to authorities, that same resident stated he saw his neighbor chase the subjects while armed with a rifle.

Police say they spoke to the neighbor, who confirmed he had been armed but that no shots were exchanged between him or the subjects. Authorities say no shell casings were found in that area.

Harris and Williams were arrested. Both are charged with first-degree robbery.

The investigation remains ongoing.
