Two bicyclists sustain serious injuries after being struck by vehicle in Hopkinsville

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – A Radcliff man is facing several charges after crashing into bicyclists.
On Monday evening, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office says it responded to the 1000 block of Pembroke Road with the Hopkinsville Police Department to a report of a serious vehicle collision.
The collision involved a single vehicle and four bicyclists.
CCSO says first responders located two of the cyclists unresponsive with serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, Isaiah Edwards, 30, of Radcliff, allegedly told deputies he was distracted while driving.
Edwards was given a roadside sobriety test and allegedly showed signs of impairment.
Deputies say Edwards later told them he had been smoking marijuana Monday morning.
Edwards was taken into custody and is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance – 3rd offense (aggravating circumstance).
Edwards is lodged at the Christian County Detention Center.
The Hopkinsville Police Department is investigating the collision.
