TVA presents Glasgow school with $5,000 grant
GLASGOW, Ky.- The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is helping local students excel in science, technology, engineering and math.
Representatives from TVA presented a $5,000 check to Red Cross Elementary School in Glasgow.
Shana Vincent, a teacher at the school, says the money will be put to good use with the purchase of new robotics kits, as well as IPads to control the robotics.
Red Cross Elementary is one of 290 schools across the Tennessee Valley Authority coverage area to apply for the grant money.
This is the second year TVA has offered the program.
The money from this grant alone will have a direct impact on over 600 students.
$600,000 in grant money from TVA is being donated to schools all across the Tennessee Valley.
